Prof. Rupesh Chaturvedi (Director, Nanofludiks Research Private Limited) spoke at a high-level round table on intellectual property in AYUSH, emphasizing the need to safeguard traditional knowledge for global integration. (Oct 2024)
“The proprietary issues surrounding AYUSH systems can only be resolved through dedicated research and innovation. We must safeguard our traditional knowledge while ensuring its global integration.”
— Prof. Rupesh Chaturvedi, Director, Nanofludiks Research Private Limited
“Empowering innovation means building not only science, but the ecosystem to support science-based entrepreneurship. Our work bridges both.”
— Prof. Rupesh Chaturvedi, Director, Nanofludiks Research Private Limited
Professor Rupesh Chaturvedi, Director at Nanofludiks Research Private Limited and a senior biomedical scientist at JNU, provided scientific insights into the increasing health vulnerabilities faced by diabetes patients during extreme heat events.
Prof. Chaturvedi emphasized that:
“Heatwaves create compounded stress on diabetic individuals by disrupting insulin efficiency and triggering cardiovascular and respiratory challenges. This can significantly elevate the risk of acute stroke and organ failure, particularly in elderly populations.”
As part of ongoing translational biosciences research, Prof. Chaturvedi and his team are developing strategies for climate-resilient health monitoring frameworks and advocating for early-warning systems targeting non-communicable disease (NCD) patients during environmental crises.
