Dr. Rupesh Chaturvedi is a Professor at the School of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, where he has served with distinction since 2014. His academic journey is marked by significant research experience at prestigious international institutions, including Vanderbilt University, where he held the position of Assistant Professor (Tenure track)
From May 2016 to October 2019, Dr. Chaturvedi was the founding Director of Research and Development at JNU, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the university’s innovation ecosystem and research infrastructure.
Currently, Dr. Chaturvedi serves as Scientific Advisor to NOMADX Holdings LLC, a company at the forefront of biological and chemical detection technologies. Launched in 2024, NOMADX specializes in rapid pathogen detection for food, water, and air safety applications, leveraging cutting-edge Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) technology.
In 2020, Dr. Chaturvedi spearheaded the launch of the Indian Clinical and Life Sciences Cloud (iCLRC)—a pioneering virtual platform enabling AI/ML-based aggregation and analytics for multiomics studies. His leadership in this initiative underscores his commitment to integrating advanced computational tools with life sciences research.
Dr. Chaturvedi’s expertise extends to the creation of both animal and non-animal models for infection biology innovations.
Beyond academia and industry, Dr. Chaturvedi is actively engaged in shaping science and innovation policy. He was a member of the drafting committee for India’s National Innovation Policy and a Government of India nominee to the Boston-Bharat Biosciences Beginnings program with Harvard University. He has also served as Coordinator for the Foreign Ministers-State Science Ministers Conclave at the India International Science Festival 2018 and as an International Mentor for Northern Pacific Global Health (NPGH) at the NIH, USA.
Dr. Chaturvedi’s influence extends to biotechnology education, where he has contributed to the development of NCERT biotechnology textbooks for classes 11 and 12.

Dr. Hemant Ritturaj Kushwaha is an Assistant Professor at the School of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, where he has been serving since 2018. He holds a Ph.D. degree and specializes in systems biology, computational biology, genomics, structural biology, and evolutionary studies. His research integrates computational approaches with experimental biology, focusing on genome-wide expression analysis and structural biology applications. Dr. Kushwaha has conducted comprehensive analyses of two-component signaling systems in plants, revealing architectural similarities between rice and Arabidopsis signaling machinery. His computational expertise extends to protein structural modeling and functional domain analysis of plant stress-responsive proteins.
Dr. Kushwaha has expanded his research portfolio to include nanotechnology applications in biological systems. His recent work involves the development of biosensors using nanomaterials, including ZnO-based nanocomposites for biomedical applications and environmental monitoring.
